Gửi các Đoàn trường

Tôi dịch bức thư yêu cầu xin lỗi của ba sinh viên Đại học Luật TP.HCM sang tiếng Anh, để thứ nhất là bày tỏ sự ủng hộ với việc làm của ba bạn; thứ hai là muốn nhắn nhủ điều này tới các tổ chức đoàn thanh niên cộng sản (dù biết sẽ chẳng cá nhân nào trong các vị tỏ ra quan tâm):

Tôi thấy mặt bằng trình độ tiếng Anh nói riêng, ngoại ngữ nói chung, ở sinh viên Việt Nam là rất thấp. Điều đó hết sức bất lợi cho Việt Nam trong việc phát triển khoa học-giáo dục, trong việc tạo ra những thế hệ sinh viên có khả năng tự học, suy nghĩ độc lập và hiểu biết về thế giới bên ngoài, và tóm lại là bất lợi cho cả sinh viên lẫn đất nước chúng ta khi “hội nhập”.

Giá như thay vào thời gian “nắm tư tưởng”, “rèn giũa tư tưởng” sinh viên, thay vào thời gian tổ chức các cuộc thi “duyên dáng sinh viên” hay “tiếng hát” này nọ trong môi trường đại học, các Đoàn trường đứng ra thúc đẩy việc nghiên cứu, học tập ở sinh viên, trong đó cái dễ nhất là giúp họ học tiếng Anh, thì… bố của Đoàn (là Đảng) có phước quá. 

Còn Đoàn trường dành thời gian để rình mò, miệt thị sinh viên bằng những lời lẽ nguỵ biện (tấn công cá nhân) nhảm nhí như thế này, thì thật vô phước cho ông bố: "Như vậy, phải chăng bản "tuyên ngôn" này là sản phẩm của những người có tư duy pháp lý chặt chẽ hay thực chất chỉ là hình thức đánh bóng tên tuổi cá nhân? Mượn "mác" sinh viên Luật để đánh bóng tên tuổi cá nhân?".

REQUEST FOR APOLOGY

We,

1. Nguyen Trang Nhung, student, Class 4B, Second Degree Certificate, Regular training, HCMC Law University,
2. Bùi Quang Vien, student, Class 3B, Second Degree Certificate, Regular training, HCMC Law University,
3. Pham Le Vuong Cac, student, class AUF35, First Degree Certificate, Regular training, HCMC Law University,

upon considering that

1. our making the Declaration of Justice for Doan Van Vuon is totally pursuant to citizens’ rights as stipulated in Article 53 of the current Constitution;
2. the act of Trung Nhan and some individuals in concerned authority under the Communist Youth Union of the HCMC Law University to publish the article “The Truth about Those Who Initiated ‘Justice for Doan Van Vuon’” on the website of doanthanhnienluat.com on April 9, 2013, openly alleging our making the Declaration to be “either a flaunt to seek fame or an act influenced by extreme viewpoints”, arguing “it is because those people are just students in their second or third year who fail to adopt a full approach to the system of Vietnamese laws as well as international laws. In addition, the shortcoming in legal consciousness of those students is somewhat demonstrated by their bad study record (…) This act has badly influenced the public in general, the members of the Youth Union and students of the HCMC Law University in particular,” not only disregards the Vietnamese citizens’ right to make constitution, but also shows signs of “humiliating other persons” and “slander” as stipulated in Article 121 and 122 of the Penal Code respectively.
3. the act of the above-mentioned individuals in the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union of the HCMC Law University to publish in the article hereinabove study records of two students, Bui Quang Vien and Pham Le Vuong Cac, is the violation of privacy rights as stipulated in Article 38 of the Civil Code.

REQUEST

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the HCMC Law University to remove the above-mentioned article from, and, at the same time, to publish formal apologies to us, Nguyen Trang Nhung, Bùi Quang Vien and Pham Le Vuong Cac, on the website of doanthanhnienluat.com, within the period of seven days as of today, April 15, 2013.

We leave open the possibility of taking legal actions – issuing lawsuit or denunciation, or pursuing prosecution – in case our request is not complied with.
